One of the best ways to rejuvenate your slow computer

With Windows XP, most PCs (laptops and desktops) were quite low on RAM (Random Access Memory) so increasing the amount of RAM could give a significant performance boost. Nowadays, most PCs have at least 4GB RAM so there is not so much to gain by adding more, unless you are for example, gaming or editing lots of photographs or videos.

If your PC has a low-end processor (such as an Intel Celeron or Pentium) there is a limit to how much the PC can be tuned to get an acceptable performance.

One PC component, which initially was very expensive but is now more affordable, is a Solid-State Drive (SSD). Whereas a conventional hard drive has moving parts (i.e. spinning platters and read/write heads) an SSD has no moving parts and is much faster at reading and writing data.

A typical 250GB SSD now costs less than £100. By cloning your current hard drive and replacing it with the cloned SSD, performance of the PC can be dramatically improved.
